Pro Bono Honoree: February, 2009 Legal Aid is proud to announce that pro bono volunteers, attorneys and non-attorneys, volunteered over 10,000 hours in 2008 to help low-income people get equal access to justice. In January, Legal Aid had 120 pro bono volunteers taking cases; by the end of the year about 280 were working pro bono on Legal Aid cases. A lot of the credit goes to Legal Aid’s Director of Pro Bono, Janet Seldon. She works tirelessly to support and recruit pro bono volunteers. Listed below are our top 21 volunteers in 2008. We would like to thank them for their commitment and hard work in helping the low-income residents of San Mateo County.
