Families are facing health, housing, and economic problems they don’t know how to solve. They include seniors trying to access affordable healthcare and parents seeking the education their students need. There are protections and safety nets meant to help, but understanding the complexities of these systems without legal assistance is difficult.

That’s why your donation makes such a big difference.

By giving to Legal Aid SMC, you equip families with the tools to regain their financial footing. Tenants get expert advice from housing attorneys and immigrant communities learn how to navigate constantly changing laws. You can make a difference in the lives of our neighbors.

Thank you for joining us to strengthen low-income communities by giving today.

If you have questions about your giving, please contact Gwen Barrett, Director of Development & Communications, at jcrenteria@legalaidsmc.org

Why I give to the Legal Aid Society of San Mateo County

In our country, right now, lawyers are first responders. Unfortunately, so many people in need of legal representation don’t have the means to afford a good attorney. By giving to the Legal Aid Society of San Mateo County we give those people a chance to secure qualified legal counsel, learn their rights and have those rights protected.

I support the Legal Aid Society of San Mateo County because it serves our low-income community members. The dedicated Legal Aid staff guides these clients through the legal process with tremendous skill and enthusiasm. We need to ensure that everyone has access to our legal system. Legal Aid does that.
— George Wailes, Attorney at Law
I am so grateful for the amazing work that Legal Aid does to provide access to high-quality legal representation to those in our community who need it the most.
